And the Venus Transformation Contest VT12 Winners are…

When I stumbled upon the Venus Factor link in Facebook, it was the best thing that could have happened to me! And to think that the result of this world wide contest would find little o'l me as a contestant winner,... just unreal!

Venus gave me the tools to navigate through the buffet of garbage modern society calls healthy living. I will always be thankful for what they have brought into my life!

Who I am... I am 50 years old, and at a healthy weight for my 5'6" height.

Although this hasn't always been the case, in my early years I was what they now call "skinny fat"! And for more than 25 years I have been fighting a losing battle to just maintain a "chunky" state ranging from a weight of 135-160.

After trying all the fad diets and gimmicks out there I finally found a program that worked well for ME, it's called the Venus Factor. It took me a bit to get going on the program as it seemed life just kept getting in the way, but after about 9 months things settled down a bit and I finally made the commitment to do something for ME!

In the first 12 weeks of the program I only lost 9 pounds, but whats more was the change I could actually see in the mirror, I lost more than 6 inches in just that 12 weeks! Read more about this in my first blog post.

After losing the extra pounds that had crept on over the years, I wanted to continue that journey and also firm the skin and muscle on my leaner frame. In my search for a diet that would help an aging body regulate my hormones (thyroid, and yes,... the mid-life roller coaster ones all women are eventually faced with!) I came across the Bulletproof Diet and recently adapted a more primal diet and lifting style which includes a daily routine of "lifting heavy things"!

Since that first 12 weeks I have lost another 11 pounds, for a total of 20 in 9 months, slow and steady wins the race. My routine consists of a 30-60 minute Venus Factor core workout, 20-30 minutes of Mobility Training (being older I have to devote as much time to my previous injuries as I do my lifting!) and a high protein, healthy fat, low carb eating style. I am working on getting more sleep but there is never enough hours in the day for all that needs to get done.

When it comes right down to it, our ancestors had it right, following their Primal Blueprint is the foundation for success!
